DHAKA: The Startup Association of Bangladesh (SAB) has announced its new Executive Committee for the 2026–2027 term. The decision was taken unanimously at the Association’s General Meeting and Executive Council Meeting held on Tuesday.
Saidul Islam has been re-elected as President of the Startup Association of Bangladesh. Md. Ashraful Islam has been appointed as the General Secretary. Members said the new leadership will help strengthen and organize the country’s startup ecosystem.
The newly elected Vice Presidents are Abdur Rashid Sohag, Dr. Nasir Uddin, Ibnul Qayes Arian, Abdullah Mohammad Hasan, Anisul Islam Suman, and Mosharraf Hossain.
Several directors were also appointed to lead key areas of the Association’s work. S. M. Al Mahmud has been named Director for Finance and Publications. Omar Faruk will serve as Director for Research and Innovation. M. M. Al Amin has been appointed Director for Information Technology. Abdullah Al Jafari will oversee International Affairs. Syed Md. Abdullah Al Russell will lead Investment-related activities. Jaber Bin Obayed Ullah Chowdhury has been appointed Director for Policy and Administration. Md. Mehedi Kawser will serve as Director for Media and Communications, while Fahim Ahmed Mondol will oversee Office and Membership affairs.
Members of the Association expressed hope that the new committee would bring more coordination and momentum to Bangladesh’s startup community.
Speaking after his re-election, President Saidul Islam said it was an honor to receive the responsibility once again. He said the Association would focus on supporting young entrepreneurs, improving policy support, connecting startups with investors, and expanding international cooperation.
He also said the Association would work closely with the government, the private sector, and development partners. The goal, he added, is to promote technology-based innovation, support sustainable growth of startups and SMEs, and create more employment opportunities.
The Startup Association of Bangladesh was established on May 13, 2023. Since then, it has been working as a representative platform for startup entrepreneurs across the country. The Association aims to promote innovation, encourage entrepreneurship, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
